When I restore, all the File resource links are broken, and I have to manually re-link them.
The SCORM packages restore, but I believe they are duplicated for each course. This consumes excessive disk as the courses are generally large. Is there a way to keep them in a repository or other method, and retain links to them on restore?
Is there a way to preserve links to the File resources? I tried using a File System repository but had the same problem.
Apologies if there is a better place to post this - similar posts I found related to my topic seemed to lead to the Backup and restore forum, so trying here first.

Doesn't look like I"m getting an answer here. Have decided to rephrase question and post in the Repositories forum.
Basically repositories are linked to each moodle system to if you restore a course to a new system, the file links are not going to work as they point to the old system.
I would guess that you have linked to files using the alias option in your course. The only way would be to not link but copy each file to the original course and then when you export, it will include the files in the backup.
So if I want a course backup that can restore a course on the same OR a different server, I need to have all file resources contained within it? There are no repositories that can maintain links between servers, even third party/cloud repositories?
