I'm using Moodle 2.6.4, Eguru theme
I have changed footer social media (footer.php) icons from Twitter and Google + in to Facebook icon. Does anyone know how can I change text "Facebook" into custom text?
I suspect that it is in eguru / lang / en / theme_eguru.php
language strings.
I have changed this code in the file you suggested and it had no effect. But my Moodle has a mind of its own so it may take a few days to see the effect.
SyntaxEditor Code Snippet
$string['medianame1'] = 'custom text'; $string['medianame2'] = 'custom text'; $string['medianame3'] = 'custom text';Thanks for the tip
Hi that's ok if you made the changes.
The trick now is to update tge language files. I find that the most useful way to make these changes visible is to navigate to ...
Site Administration > Languages > Language packs
Then at the bottom of the first column you will find a (button) link that says Update language packs
If you CLICK this it will update your changes.
It works for me so should work for you too. it's less trouble than purging caches as that can slow your site down too much.
Cheers
Mary
You learn every day.
It works!
Very happy, very grateful.
