New user registration - Automatically confirm account

Hi

I dont want to manually confirm everyone's account when they register.

I believe it is the OAUTH2 Facebook login that  causes this.

Is there a way around it?

Moodle 3.3.2

Thanks

You shouldn't have to manually confirm everyone's account. With 3.3 if they log in via OAUTH2 they need to confirm their account themselves by going to their email account and clicking to confirm. WIth 3.4 as admin you can remove this requirement - see the documentation OAuth 2 authentication.

Thanks. I have found here to set up the outgoing emails.

But the link it sends out for confirmation is expired???

It seems it is also an issue with email-based self registration.

I tested this and had no issue, my first user had no issue, but now..chaos.

My soft launch is turning into a disaster as I never said: "wait for confirmation" in the instructions in my promo.  sad sad

Anyone?

With email based self registration, yes, new account users must confirm their account by clicking in the email message they are sent. Make sure your site is sending out emails correctly and remind people that sometimes those confirmation emails get sent to spam/junk box by mistake.

Hi, Mary

My situation is the opposite: I want to disable the email that is sent to the user when the registration is done, but I want to confirm it automatically. Do you know if it's possible?

Thanks

Sandra
