Downloading Papers

Hi,  I am just about to roll my workshop module over into assessment. Before I do this I would like to download all my students' submissions (197 Word Documents)

Is there an easy way I can download all 197 papers at once?  I don't see it as a feature within the module.

Are the papers stored in a directory on the Moodle server? If so I am thinking that once I know the directory, I can FTP them all down to my PC.  If so, in which directory would they be stored?

I have searched the forums for "downloading workshop papers" but no results are returned.

No, there is not such a feature yet. It is one of the most requested improvements to be added to the module - MDL-40879. There is also a community patch attached in that feature that might help until the feature is added to the core Moodle.

The submitted files are stored in Moodle's internal file storage. I am not aware of a tool that exposes it via FTP. There was a plugin that exposes the Moodle's file storage via WebDAV but I am not sure if it still works or could be used for this: https://moodle.org/plugins/local_davroot

Hello Everyone,
5+ yrs ago both me (DAVRoot, https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=187535) and Juan (https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=196992) wrote something to access the Moodle Data: he used FTP, https://github.com/jleyva/moodle-mftpd.

Both are old plug-ins so it depends on the Moodle version.

Some day I'll update DAVRoot (which is firewall friendly) to run on latest Moodle&PHP versions (including automated tests) - removing the experimental "write" functionalities too - but I'm not sure when wink.

I went ahead an downloaded them manually.  Not sure why bulk downloads are not available in the Workshop module.  Major omission
