Hello, I am looking for a way to let one choose an entry from a dynamic menu while adding things to a database activity. Lets say, I want to put the name of a user into a field by choosing it from a (all active users) drop down list. Is this possible? Thank you Enno

No, it is impossible. You can try Itamar's Dataform instead.

Moodle is great. There is so much to discover. 

Today I ran into another challenge.

Is there an easy way to generate a form letter (maybe javascript template based) including entries from our database? I would like to print certificates for certain users

You can try to design your form as beautiful as you can in 'View Single Template', then use the print button (see the: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=165831) to print it out.
