I have messaging and email disabled.
I'm trying to use the web notifications menu (bell icon) to allow students to easily see new or course or forum activity.
The yellow 'unread' highlighting appears when I view the forums, but the bell doesn't work.However, no notifications ever get sent to the menu.
Any known bugs with v3.2? Unfortunately we can't upgrade Moodle without doing a major software update on the rest of the server, so that's not an option.
Has anyone had this problem before, and have any ideas what to try?
Is it perhaps something to do with messaging and email being disabled?
