Thanks much for your thoughtful response. Unfortunately, that’s not really a feature we’re looking for. We do want the kids to be marking the assignments as complete.
In brief, it seems that the check-boxes students use to mark assignments as completed are not used to evaluate whether or not an assignment should be removed from the Course Overview in Timeline view.
The only way we can seem to get this working is to enable a submit button, which then requires a submission type (online text and/or file) to be enabled for the button to become visible. This is more than we want to have the students do to inform us that they have completed the assignment.
Perhaps there is a setting, or combination of settings, that exists that would enable this to happen, but we’ve not figured out the correct combination.
Again, we want a student to check an assignment as complete, and the result should be that the assignment is removed from Course Overview in Timeline view on the student's dashboard.
Any ideas?
