I deleted announcements from the main page but I would like it be on the right side of the block. I can created it in edit mode but once edit mode is switched off the latest announcements disappear?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please could you explain what you mean by "on the right side of the block"? Do you have 'Number of announcements' set to a number greater than 0 (as mentioned in the documentation Announcements forum)?

Thanks for the response. Sorry so I got announcements on the front page and latest announcement on the block. When I remove announcements from the main page latest announcements disappear.
I also got this really annoying pink line over announcements that I cant get rid of. Please see screen shot below. I have set the announcements to 3.
So my question is can I just have latest announcements on the block and not the pink one in the middle of the page.

Unfortunately I don't think it's possible in standard Moodle to have the announcements block without the announcements forum. The pink line is a theme issue. What theme and what Moodle version are you using?

Yes I think your right. Looks like I will have to keep both. I am using 3.3.1 Moodle and the theme we are using is Boost.
I am not too familiar with themes. I will take a look now.
