We are using Moodle Mobile internally and would like to evaluate Moodle Desktop, too, however our internal policy essentially "encourages" us to compile software ourselves if it's open source (it's more complicated actually, but I'll spare you the details).
We tried to build a Windows version of Moodle Mobile using the "windows" platform of Cordova (which only works for 10, and to a lesser degree for 8, and not for 7), and the generated Visual Studio templates, however run into the usual ydn-db DataError due to the web view used, right after logging in. The Moodle Mobile desktop app does not produce that error, so I am guessing that a different approach is used here.
Are there any additional patches required for building Moodle Desktop that did not make it to the repository, or are there any pointers or build scripts that you could share? I'd of course be more than happy to properly document all necessary steps if we manage to get it working.
