invalidrecordunknown error when trying to rename Topic

I am getting an invalidrecordunknown Can not find data record in database. error when trying to rename a course using the direct edit feature but only on one course so far. I can change the name using the Edit Section, Section name  and selecting the custom option. However if I then try the direct edit again I get the same error.

As I said, this has happened only on one course and there is a workaround.

System info:

  • Moodle 3.3.2 (Build: 20170911)
  • Fordson theme
  • MySQL db

I'm seeing this too.

Moodle 3.5.1, Boost theme

mariadb (5.5.5-10.1.26-MariaDB-0+deb9u1)

php 7.0.30.0.9.1

nginx 1.10.3

What's interesting is an old course I have works, but new courses do not.
