Good morning, everyone,
We have a four Red Hat 7.3 cluster with Moodle 3.1.6 and I cannot figure out if we can schedule the execution of cron.php in all of them or we have to keep scheduling just in one.
Moodle 2.7 Upgrade documentation (https://docs.moodle.org/27/en/Cron) shows the below information:
Cron in Moodle 2.7+
Cron has received a major update and now has support for both scheduled and adhoc tasks - MDL-25499. The benefits of these changes are:
- The schedule for every task can be configured by the admin. See Scheduled tasks
- Tasks can run in parallel
- Cron processes use locking to prevent the same task running at the same time by different processes
A result of this is that cron can be run much more often, which means (for example) forum posts can be sent out sooner. Admins can keep cron running at the same schedule as before, but it is strongly recommended that they increase the frequency of running cron to at least once per minute.
But I don't know if the cron.php can be run in different servers since it can be run in pararell, or it just can run in parallel in the same node since it is recommended to run it every minute.
Thanks in advance,
