formatting problems with wiki

formatting problems with wiki

We are running moodle 1.5.3 here at Thanet College on Windows server 2000 and IE6. We are using wikis to support student lesson plans but have noticed that we can't hold the formatting of any wiki page once it has passed through one editing. For example any table settings imported simply collapse. Using tables to create charts and simple forms is an excellent way of sharing student attainment amongst tutors and the student concerned. Formatting text also will not work so we cannot use bold or colour distinguish between student and tutor entries which is so helpful to us. Wikis are such a great learning tool that we want to keep using them. Any suggestions please.

Thank you Ludo. We have installed dfwiki and it is working well. Hopefully we can import our old wikis across. I could not see the ability to create 'student wikis', where we can create a wiki for each student. We have used this particular format for learning contracts, progression records and learning plans. In each case we want to keep the wiki private between the individual student and thier teachers. Is that facility not available in dfwiki? Geoff
