Limiting Questions from question bank in quiz activity

Hi,,

First time posting here so hope it's the correct forum.

I'm trying to create a quiz in which i have a set number of questions, say 50, in a question bank, but each time a learner takes the quiz they are presented with only 10 randomly-selected questions.

i can't figure out how to limit the number of questions presented at each attempt, can anyone offer any advice?

Many thanks,

Karl

You can add as many questions as you want to a question bank, and then when creating the quiz add 10 'random questions' from that bank to the quiz itself.

Perhaps you have added all your questions into a quiz, rather than in a question bank?

But that's ok - you could create a new quiz and the existing questions will be available as a bank in the new quiz, and you will be able to add the limited number of them to the new quiz.

Hi Richard,

Many thanks for your reply.

Yes your presumption that i added questions to the quiz itself is correct - I used the phrase 'question bank' to refer to the set of questions I have added to the quiz and not 'question bank' as Moodle would refer to it.....apologies for any confusion caused!

I had a very vague idea that my answer would  lie with random questions - thank you for the links and for pointing me in the right direction!

All the best,

Karl
