Moodle 3.1.7 datepicker popup calendar display problem

After doing a recent upgrade from Moodle 3.1.5 to 3.1.7, we noticed the following problem with the display of the popup calendar whenever we use the datepicker function.

Moodle version:  Moodle 3.1.7+ (Build: 20170720)

Theme:  Clean v. 2016052300

Popup calendar


I suspect the cause is related to datepicker.js.  

Has anyone else encountered this problem?  Is there a fix?  Please advise.

What makes you think its datepicker.js and not a CSS issue?

It was the JS -> MDL-59667.
