Login issues after upgrade from 2.7 to 3.1

I recently upgraded from Moodle 2.7 to 3.1. All seemed to go fine and error free. All plugins are updated and no errors. We use LDAP authentication and no settings were changed but now several existing users have reported they can no longer login. Other users in the same OU are logging in fine. The error they get is:

Coding error must be corrected by programmer and Blocked type...has been disabled by the administrator.

When I try to sync LDAP manually I get this error:

Coding error detected, it must be fixed by a programmer: get_device_type is removed, please update your code to use core_useragent instead.

Potential coding error – existing temptables found when disposing database. Must be dropped!

Any ideas?
