Having just got into the Moodle Mobile App thing, for both my Mini iPad and my Samsung (Android) phone, I am getting curious about how to set about creating a Mobile Theme.
Recently I was asked about how to customize the Moodle Mobile App so that the main site customisation, like the Bootstrap carousel and marketing type elements can look as good when using the Moodle Mobile App.
So having spent a bit of time over the last couple of days, I can see now why one needs extra CSS to make the carousel work. The Moodle Docs for this are either wrong or old as the information there is not the same as I have found while using the Boost theme.
To add a css file location you need to put the URL for that file that must reside in your Moodle site, preferably in your theme, and add the link in the following settings page for the Mobile App which can be found in Moodle 3.3 if you navigate to:
Site Administration > Mobile App > Mobile Appearance -> CSS (mobilecssurl)
I'm not totally sure if this is the same for all Moodle 3.0+ versions as the docs give another location!
So if anyone here has any stories to tell about creating a Mobile theme, of how to customise a Moodle Mobile App, then please add a reply and see where this leads us.
Who knows I may even learn something new at last!
