I am trying to troubleshoot a backup and restore of a course on a moodle instance which is due to close and from which the courses will be moved to another instance. We hope.
The backup has been done from both the course itself and using the command line. When I was doing the command line version I noted that the backup.mbz file is much larger than than the file which ends up on the site. 4562.724Mb > 359.8Mb
When restoring it fails very quickly with:
'Error processing archive file'
'More information about this error' does not give more information.
Any help gratefully received.

Moodle 2.7, with Experimental settings > enable new backup format ticked.
