I would like to have my users signup to moodle, chose a name from a required dropdown field and that would then make them a member of a group in a course with a teacher, etc.
I have tried auth-mcae but it does not seem to work if the field is modified after it was first chosen. Though it did work for a cohort which is a checkbox and automatically added to all users and cannot be changed. As of right now neither works after updating to 3.3 and merging cohorts that were in double.
Is there a way this can be done ? I already have the cohorts setup, almost all users have the field updated to the right one but I cannot link them to each other. I might be using auth-mcae wrong and would not mind some help figuring it out if that is the problem.
I am not a programmer or developper, please be precise in what I should do if you can help.
