Course history 400GB data

Hello,

Our advisor donot want to delete the history courses which was already taught. They want for future use. They are keeping backup of our history courses. So we could not removing our courses and it stored under moodledata folder. However, now the size of moodledata folder is 400GB. Do you have any alternative to move course history folders beside keeping into moodledata folder? How do you manage in your organization? Please explain step by step procedure.


We are on moodle 2.9 

php 5.5.9

mysql 5.5.53

ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS

If you're not actively using them for teaching..... take a (Moodle) course backup. Download it and keep it somewhere safe. Delete the course from Moodle. 

If you need it in the future you can just restore it.
