Configure Domain

Configure Domain

Hi,

I installed my moodle on a virtual machine so I access it through an IP, but now I already have a domain to point to that IP.

I have configured the corresponding registry for that domain to take me to my Moodle and it directs me well but when I access some course of the moodle does not work for me for example the checks when you are reading some exercises, instead if I access by the IP if it works all right.

I have been researching and I have read that it is necessary to configure something more in the moodle files, but I do not know exactly what to configure so that it works correctly.

Could you help me?

Thank you.

1.  Verify that your config.php references the dns name and not the ip.

2.  Run "yoursite.com"/admin/tools/replace/index.php on your database to update all the references from the ip address to the domain name.

Hi Emma,

I configured the config.php as follows but I think I'm not getting it right because I think the lines of the domain is commenting on me.

Can you verify that everything is okay?

My domain is campus.ascendiarc.com

The second step I do not understand what to do since I access that route and I see the other image that I upload.

Thank you

Have you just changed the dns name or switched to https?  If you are seeing images that you upload and not existing images, this is because your database uses absolute urls and, as such, you have to change all the references from your old dns name/or name without https to the new one.  The replace tool will do this for you.

I've changed the name of dns to point to campus.ascendiarc.com

My web is in http not in https

What tool do I use to change all these URLs? Since in the administration tool of which you attach the image above there was no option to update the URLs.
