I am trying to set up workshop where students will either attach a short audio or video file using the attachment feature or embed it using the media link feature. I want the file to play in the assessment window and not downloaded. When I tried the attachment feature and clicked on the file it would always try to download the file and not play in the browser window. I tried it in Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. From the way it looks when it is uploaded it seems like this should be possible. I'm using Moodle 3.2.2+ (Build: 20170324) and Workshop 2016120500. Is there a filter setting or something that needs to be changed?
Just an update. Things are working today, so I'm not sure what the problem was yesterday.
Hm, if I remember correctly, submission attachments should always be forced to be downloaded for security reasons. The forum attachments behave the same. Are you saying you achieved to let students to attach (not embed into the text) media and they are now played via the inbuilt player?
Sorry, David it isn't using attachments, but embedded files. Yesterday, the audio and video files weren't playing when embedded and it seemed that they were downloading. I was trying so many different configurations, so I may have gotten some of them confused.
Ah, ok then. In either case, happy you have resolved it now.
