I have been working on the deployment of Moodle Mobile to allow our users access to courses when offline. Our users will be accessing single activity SCORM courses.
We are using Moodle 3.1.6 hosted on an Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS server. We currently serve approximately 50 users.
The mobile devices we plan to use include a blend of android and iOS.
Mobile performs well on iOS (iPhone and iPad), but fails miserably on Android devices. We have tested a wide range of android devices, ranging from 4.4.2 to 6.0. All devices are current with the latest updates. All have been checked to ensure there is sufficient storage space available on the device for downloaded content.
We are able to login and connect via Mobile without difficulty. We can view enrolled course in My courses and are able to download them. However, when we attempt to launch the SCORM course we constantly encounter the Webpage not available error. I have attached screen captures from 2 courses.
When I check local storage on the android device(s), the SCORM package is complete and present -- it just does't play. Attached are screen shots from the file manager showing the path and content for both of the 2 example courses on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8 device.
The content for both courses appears to be complete, but it will not play.
Is this a defect, or are there some critical setup and configuration steps we may have missed? Your guidance and insight on this issue is much appreciated.
