I'd like to use the upcoming events block on the my dashboard page for staff and students.

The display for this block however takes its display settings from the calendar view page and there doesn't seem to be a way to allow a user to change this view on the dashboard page.

To explain in a better way:

If a user has a mix of user events along with global events - on the dashboard instance of Upcoming Events only global events will be visible. Unless; they hop across to their calendar, change the view settings to hide global events in the Events Key block, come back to the dashboard page, then they can see their user events - but only just their user events.

There doesn't seem to be a way to make the Events Key visible on the dashboard page - adding the Calendar block brings in just the calendar without any view options.

Ideally we would like the user to see all Upcoming user, course and global events on the dashboard, And have the ability to hide/show  any of these types without leaving the dashboard page.

Is there a way to better manage this that I haven't been able to find ?
