This is an interesting area: sort of damned if you do damned if you don't.
On a personal level my view is that you can provide information, and what students do with it is their own issue. We operate a policy of "You've been told, so don't complain later if you miss something." approach.
In many respects I also have a tendency towards what is useful to one person may not be so to another, so rather let the students decide what they want to use.
Therefore I would activate the service, and leave it up to the students to make whatever use they want: they can only ask if they do not understand something.
