Thanks for the reply. I actually don't think there's a problem My main concern was that I didn't want regular users (i.e., non-admins) to see these system notifications. And from the further testing I've done, they don't. That's great. It's fine if admins see them.

Hi Brian,
yes, admins will see this type of notifications but you can configure the admin user to don't see them via the notification preferences in the user profile.
There you can choose which type of notifications you want the users to receive, you can even disable some type of notifications for all the platform users.
Apart from that, a student won't see those type of notifications (the plugins updates one)
