NTLM SSO error on recent Internet Explorer - stuck in autologin loop

We have noticed an issue in the last week or so - if a user clicks a link to a page in an email (so it spins up a new IE tab or window), if they are on site using a device that authenticates to our AD system, it logs them in on the first attempt BUT then sticks them in a login loop.

It doesn't affect things off site, and we have checked it's fine using Firefox (recent versions) on our AD machines. But an issue on Chrome.

It may have been an issue for far longer, but we have (until recently) had 'auto log users in as guest when they hit a course page' enabled for a good year or so (even through the upgrade from 2.9 to 3.1).

Has anyone seen this before, and got a suggested fix?

TIA,
Dave

Also started seeing this recently... Did you get anywhere with troubleshooting it?

We didn't have time, so just turned it off.

We want to move to Shibboleth authentication anyway, but we were holding off that until I get some time with our sole AD guru to make that autologin from the desktop. Maybe now we'll speed up that move.
