How do I correctly reinstall moodle after compromised website

Hello Moodle community,

 

We’ve had trouble in the past with compromised sites and I think it’s time to perform a fresh reinstall of Wordpress and Moodle.

I’m currently stuck though and am not sure how to correctly export the old data into the new install. I’m installing Moodle and Wordpress on a local machine and then will be migrating it to the webserver after everything is setup.

Is there a better way to get all course data and user data other than exporting each course and re importing?

Compromised Moodle version: Moodle 3.0.3+ (Build: 20160415)

Fresh install Moodle version: Moodle 3.2.3 (Build: 20170508)

If your data has been compromised, what is going to stop your new site from being compromised?

However, if you think your moodle site is ok, then just look at the documentation on migration - that will show you how to copy the whole site to another server.
