Dropbox Not Logging In
 
Hi. I have been using Dropbox successfully with my school's version of Moodle up until a few days ago. Now, it doesn't log in even though the API Key, Secret, and Oauth Callback are all properly set up. Is there a way to  debug this?


The popup to login in pops up and disappears after clicking "Allow," but after that, nothing happens.

Hi Haley,

I believe they recently dropped support for the old V1 API. Have you switched to using OAuth 2 API? Also you might want to check the Redirect URls as it needs to be https as http is only allowed for localhost now.

Thank you so much. I think you're absolutely right but I'm not sure how to apply their new API to Moodle? The Redirect URI is in fact https://


On the moodle side of things, I only needed to enter an  API Key + Secret, no word on how to fix up the oauth :/

I just two days ago ran the QA Test for this function and had to  "rebuild" my app and make the changeover to https and add  Redirect URI. The link is listed in the comments for OAuth 2 API on the Moodle repositories Dropbox configuration page.

Hi Kristian,

This is something I don't normally use anymore since I retired from teaching. I just set it up during Quality Assurance testing for Moodle 3.3, to run a test. If I remember correctly, the directions for setup and use in Moodle 3.3 are different than those used in previous versions of Moodle. I just followed the directions in the QA Test at - https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDLQA-10679
