I've searched through the forums and didn't come up with anything on the topic. I work for a medium-sized university and have often been asked how to make Moodle more "program oriented", as opposed to course centric. I'm looking for ideas on how to make it more clear to teachers and students what programs they are enrolled in and simplify navigation between courses that make up a program (or several different programs...).
- Could this be done using a customized block that would be added to each course?
- Could this be done by customizing the "My" page so that, instead of showing a long list of individual course, it would show a program container/section, under which individual courses would be shown under it?
Some users have used meta-courses to create "program home pages" and then enrol other courses into them, but that only adds another site to a user's "My" page and doesn't really help them know where to go.
I'm interested to know what others are doing to address the issue. Thanks.
