Hi. We are using the external database enrolment plugin to enrol students into courses however we also need them put into groups as we have multiple classes using the same course and teachers need to have students in groups for obvious reasons.
As this is not yet possible with the plugin I am trying to develop a temporary solution where I manually create missing groups and assign users to that group. As I cannot write a line of php to save myself I have developed the solution in c#.
After performing the necessary checks and creating a group record in the groups table I check the groups page of the relevant course but newly created group does not appear. If I switch to the Overview tab it is listed in there (see attachments). Also if I enable restrictions on a topic on the course the group is not displaying.
The odd thing is if I use the GUI to create another group with a different name the group I created directly in the table will then appear. The group I am creating is called 8FT8H and it only shows up in the groups list after I create the "test group" (see attachment).
Could someone please guide me as to what might be causing this? I suspect that there is another record in another table but for the life of me I cannot find it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
