With looking at our move to Moodle 3.2 and Boost our teachers were feeling like there were sometimes too many clicks to do important things in their course. They are also not a fan of the way the Course Administration links are laid out. I listened to feedback and added a new method for them to access and interact with the Course Administration.
We utilized the bootstrap collapse feature to show and hide a panel just above the main content of the page. We placed a link there that toggles the new Course Management Panel.
When the link is clicked it toggles the display of the menu which is broken down into the following groupings for Course Admin Links: Badges, Question Bank, Course Settings, and User Links. We believe these groupings will help teachers discover and access the links they need quickly and efficiently.
We also hide the default action/edit cog as to avoid confusion of another place to access the same links when using the Course Management panel.
We think this is a cleaner and simpler way to present all the course administration links to teachers.
