News Forum doesn't change language

Hi everyone, here I'm again, once I got no responses previously.....

I've been using "span" managing 3 languages at the same time, and up to now it is OK in most cases on my website (https://ingty.com). But I got a major problem with the "news" at the main page. It's not working at all. Is it a bug or is it "by design"? How can I show the same "news" in different languages?

Please note that cross-posting is not a good way to get attention to your problem. It is only confusing (especially as you did not even provide link to the other places where the same question has been posted).

Maybe you could provide a step-by-step description of how to reproduce your problem. I admit I don't really understand it from your screenshots.

Here we go:

1) I've been using "span" managing 3 languages at the same time, and up to now in most cases it is OK (my website https://ingty.com). 

2) I onlly got problems with the "news" at the main page. Translation is not working at all. When I use the span code, the same content repeats for all three languages (pls see attached file - I've done a different screenshot composition). - This is my DEV server where I've registered this "test news" -  http://40.121.209.223/moodle/

Please, let me know if something is still unclear. This is really important to us, once we're about the release our website in Spanish this month and having the News in a diferent language is not acceptable.

Weird. I just tried it on https://demo.moodle.net and it works there as expected. Can you please check

  • Does the Multi-Lang Content filter work somewhere else on that site?
  • Is the filter enabled at Site administration > Plugins > Filters > Manage filters?
  • Is it configured to apply to both content and headings?
  • Is the filter left in the default (enabled) state at Home > Front page settings > Filters (local filter setting in the content of the front page)

Filipe - How could your have tested there? Threre's no FORUM NEWS on it.

This is my DEV server. You can test properly. I'm using the most updated moodle version 3.2+

Reminded me a case where multilang didn't like the new line between the span elements. Do a quick test by putting /span and next span back-to-back.

No it doesn't. As I said above, I could not reproduce on the demo site.

How could your have tested there? There's no FORUM NEWS on it.

Yes there is. It is just not displayed by default and must be enabled via Site administration > Front page settings
