Text editors

Hi all...

i am tring to create a table with a specified width when creating 'webpages' using the moodle editor.

my problem is when i set the table width to 600px or 100% on one page then create another page exactly the same, the width of the table resizes. i have tried putting the content text in without a table but this has the same effect - the table resizes

is there a basic thing i am missing?
