adaptable does not show messages in desktop screen

adaptable does not show messages in desktop screen

Moodle version: 3.1.4 (build 20170109)

Adaptable version: 1.3.1.1

While using desktop with wide screen, cannot see messages/contacts. When resize screen to width 767 or less, everything is ok. Seems to recognize desktop as a mobile. I cannot figure out why this occurs.

I send two screen shots in one image. Looking at the background we can see that the screen width difference is just one bit (the one at left is smaller than 768; the other greater than 767).

Weird thing is that this behaviour does not occur with admin account.

I suppose this has something around "@media" rule in css file but I cannot figure out what and where, much less how to solve.

Please, any help.

Thanks,

Ricardo

Can't replicate the issue.

Anyway, if it works well with admin then it is not a @media issue.

OK, I understand your point. Still  I'd ask if there is sth different in the way adaptable render the pages if the user is admin or a regular user. Does admin have any different access privileges to any adaptable scripts or files? Anything, like a configuration bit, that could cause a different rendering of pages?

Thanks for your reply.

The only restriction for admins is the bottom area in the front page layout.

The rest of the layout is common to all the roles.

By CSS is not possible to restrict parts of the theme, only by PHP.

If you go to Site Administraion > Development > Debugging

the select the option to Show page information in footer ( or something like that)

I forget the actual wording...but this displays the page type in the footer so that you can find out which page layout is being generated in that page.

If there is a difference then this will show up and may be able to find out what is happening in your server.

in the end it may even be a permissions problem that needs some attentions!

Hope this helps?

Mary
