Assignment Submission Taking over 5 minutes

Our Moodle server (version 3.1.5) is running well except for assignment submissions.  When a student tried to submit and save an assignment it takes up to 5 minutes for assignment to save.  I have tested this with a simple text box and "Hello World!" as the entire assignment and even that took 5 minutes.  Uploading files instead of using the text box takes just as long using the assignment submission.

The interesting thing is uploading files to the Moodle server using the course's "file resources" upload immediately.

Are you using an antivirus program on your Moodle server that might be affecting students and not teachers?

Thanks for replying.

We did turn off ClamAV and that did not fix the issue.

The problem ended up being that we never converted the InnoDB tables to Barracuda.  Here is the article talking about how to fix the table conversion.
