Hide quiz, but want to use hyperlink to it

Hi there,


I would like to hide a quiz from my course, but at the same time use an hyperlink to that quiz.

This exactly the same question as was asked here:

I tried that solution but it didn't work: my quiz does not become 'orphan', rather it gets deleted all together with the section.
My guess is things have changed in the mean while. wink

Is there a current way to do this?

(not sure which version of Moodle we are on, but it should be fairly updated)

Make  sure you put the quiz in the bottom section and instead of clicking the X to delete the section, click the minus sign to remove it that way. That should work.

You mean the old method of putting it in the 10th topic and then reducing the number of topics to 9 will not work anymore?

Yes it still works, but you have to make sure to reduce the number of topics and not to delete the topic. When this method was first though up, it was not possible to completely delete a topic.
