yes, it is possible with the function User override (sorry that the name is not 100% exact, I work with the German version). Here is how I would do it:

1. Go to Quiz>Settings> User override
2. Select the user and in the option "Allowed tries" select the number of tries.

I suppose that you'll have to delete the first try or select the second try manually - but that would work, I guess.

Actually, you can go into the Attempts and just delete the attempt from that page.
