Config table does not contain version, can not continue, sorry.

More information about this error

It is usually not possible to recover from errors triggered during installation, you may need to create a new database or use a different database prefix if you want to retry the installation.

So, what's the problem? Are you getting that error when you install Moodle? If so:

  • drop your Moodle database
  • create a new blank database
  • delete the contents of your Moodledata folder

Then reinstall Moodle.

I am having this same error. I upgraded my Moodle to 3.2 using the same database. Everything was working fine for several days. Now I'm getting this same error. I have not tried the fix that is suggested here: https://docs.moodle.org/32/en/error/debug/missingconfigversion

This is the value I have :     $version  = 2016120501.01;

I will manually add it to the database using phpmyadmin.  I will reply when I find out if it worked.
