Add description below profile field

Add description below profile field

I've locked the email field in the users profile and wanted to know how to add a description below the field saying something like, "If you want to change your email, please contact your <a href="mailto:moodle_admin@mysite.com>administrator</a>".

Is this possible?

Apologies for not including that information first time round.

I'm using Moodle v3.1 with the Klass theme installed.

Hi Dave,

Ok, looking at things you have two choices:

  1. It appears that the user profile page is the 'mypublic' theme layout and only used for that, so you could modify that in the theme to have the information on the same page.
  2. Otherwise a mater of having a new 'label' type in /user/profile/field/ where you could then enter the markup and add it as a custom user profile field.  Then would probably appear in the correct place on that page.

Does not appear to be any 'renderer' or Mustache template in M3.1 that allows easy replacement in a theme.
