Slowly recovering from all the rush around the Moodle 3.2 release, the plugins approval team has more resources now to start looking at submitted plugins again. If you have a plugin waiting in the approval queue, you might like the new feature added to the recently introduced "developer zone" page.
There is now a new block that displays:
- Scheduled review type -- either "Initial" or "Re-approval". Initial means that we are going to look at your plugin for the first time. Re-approval means that the plugin had already been seen and marked as needing more work, and now is submitted for another round of review.
- Waiting in the queue for -- shows the time your plugin has spent in the approval queue (in this review round)
To give you an information on what you can expect, the block also displays:
- Total number of plugins waiting in the approval queue -- your plugin is one of them.
- First one queuing for -- shows the time that has been spent in the approval queue by one of the currently queuing plugins, the one that has been waiting for longest time. This is a rough indicator of our current reviewing performance.
We generally review plugins in the first-in-first-out order. But we also prioritise initial reviews over re-approvals. And finally, reviewers have right to pick a plugin of their choice. So please don't be surprised if another plugin is reviewed sooner than your one, even if it was submitted after it.
Big thanks for all your contributions and mainly for your patience. Have a good weekend!
