Does it happens with Adaptable 1.3.1?
It's related to the mobile view. We are working to fix it.
I thought I was the only one experiencing these issues. Thanks for sharing your experience, Dragan!
There is an open issue in the tracker related to iPad where looks like there are incompatibilities with pace.js that display the loading bar in the top.
This js library will be updated in the next Adaptable version.
Hello Fernando,
thanks for following up. I am not sure if my ticket mislead you, but it seams not to be the problem only on mobile devices. Also, issue appears in cases when I resize my browser window (both FF and Chrome).
It is also happening on your demo site.
As I explained yesterday, the demo site was created past week and using different machines and browsers and nobody notice any issue in the logout. It was tested with all the users because we made some changes on them.
So I think the issue is more related to external conditions like OS and/or browser.
We use FF, Chrome and Chromium for development. Adaptable never is tested in development with IE, Edge, Safari or Opera. So we can't detect some cross-browsing issues that can rise in that browsers.
The only known issue is in mobile devices, or screens below 1024px like Netbooks, that the menu is not displayed. This issue is still pending so I think that your screen is using this resolution and this is the reason of the problem.
Hi Fernando - thanks for all the hard work you are putting in to the Adaptable theme. Can I ask when the next update is likely to be released? Is it imminent?
I am supporting a project that uses ipads and android tablets and with the user drop down menu not working, students cannot logout, so huge problems for them, and if an update isn't due for a few weeks, then I will switch themes, if it is imminent then I will stay as we are (which I would prefer).
Thanks
We will try to follow the moodle lifecycle release so next version is expected for next March.
In the meantime probably we'll release some minor version to fix some bugs.
But for the moment the dropdown issue is not fixed so I can't tell you when will be published this fix.
Last night I was doing some research, I'm not a specialist but I always read and try to fix these things by my own. I was browsing some websites and I found this one: https://3-bits.com/demo/adaptable/
Please, log in as a teacher (Username: teacher | Password: Demo1234). Then, try to log out and you'll see what happens (and look at the # sign, it also shows up at the end of the link). I tested it with Edge, Mozilla, IE and Chrome. That's the same that happens to my on my website :\
It's so weird!
This is really weird because we were working the past days in a new demo version and even today we made some changes and never had problems with login and logout.
We use normally FF and Chrome and can't replicate this issue in any environment.
The logout URL from the menu is right: https://3-bits.com/demo/adaptable/login/logout.php?sesskey=xxxxxxxxxx
I don't know, that's the exact same problem I have and it's weird because I just installed Moodle with all the default settings, I think there's no chance I could've done anything wrong. My website's in a shared hosting, it runs:
cPanel version | 60.0 (build 35) |
Apache version |
2.4.23 |
PHP version I'm running on my websites |
7.0.13 |
MySQL version |
10.0.27-MariaDB-cll-lve |
Architecture | x86_64 |
Operating System |
linux |
Versión Perl | 5.16.3 |
Versión Kernel | 3.10.0-427.18.2.lve1.4.24.el7.x86_64 |
At first sight the issue is not related to the server. But if you are using MariaDB then set the right dbase name in moodle. mariaDB is not mysqli
Sorry, my mistake! My database is set as mariadb.
