Actually i like to add different Activities within the Workshop activity. As the part of that i like to add quiz as a aspect within the workshop

Madona, you can't add different activities to the workshop. However, are you talking about the workshop module in Moodle or some workshop you are organizing? Sounds like you might mean the latter. In Moodle, "module" and "activity" are basically synonyms, one looking at the same from the technology side and another from the user side. How you use them for real-life activities is totally up to you.
If you indeed mean a real-life workshop that you organize and want to use Moodle for online activities, you should set up a Moodle course and use any of the modules available to set up tasks and chores for your participants. The module (activity) names are meant to give you an idea what each does, but many people use them quite creatively for variety of things.
