Making a course available based on whether a student has taken another course?

Hi.

Is it possible to make a course available (auto enrollment) based on whether a student has taken another course in Moodle? That would be helpful when you have courses in series of for instance 1-5 courses.

Unfortunately this is currently not yet possible, however if you use self-enrolment there is a workaround involving using an enrolment key. Please see the documentation Course completion FAQ for details.
