December Rant

Hi all,

<rant>Maybe I'm succumbing to the human trait of looking for a pattern where none exists, but I can't help thinking that around December each year a Computer science course somewhere  introduces its first year students to Moodle.

Yes I know, we all have to start somewhere.  I just wish they would move that bit of the course to January.  Then they could spend December learning about reading documentation, netiquette and the benefits of posting more than half a line as a question in a public forum.</rant>

Happy Advent,

Andy

How do you turn Moodle off and on again?

(Apart from $ reboot - We don't want the people who ask those kinds of questions to have CLI access to a server!)

Can we buy a "Restart Moodle" button sticker for users to put on their machines? Should come with instructions along the lines of, "Press button, count to ten, then try to put the problem that you're experiencing into words."
