"You are logged in as" text is not displaying for a guest

"You are logged in as" text is not displaying for a guest

I'm relatively new to Moodle.  We are working with Moodle 3.1.

We'd like something like the following to display after the user selects the option to log in as a guest.

"You are currently using guest access (Log in)"

Right now, even after logging in as a guest, the button is displayed in the top right with no change and still says "Log in" which may be confusing to users.

Hello Lindsey. Can you confirm which theme you are using?

We are using the Adaptable theme. The feature we are looking for appears to be standard in the Clean theme.
