I am redefining our roles at the moment and I had a general questions about capabilities.
My understanding is if you define a role to prevent a capability, no matter which profile you are using you will be denied that capability (e.g.. viewing pages).
My question is 'Can I use the roles to build capabilities'? - aka If I prevent Authenticated User (and on front page) to be view pages, but allow Student role to view pages and my students gain both roles once enrolled in a course will that affect this capability?
My second query is.... is there any way to hide 1 or all email addresses in profiles from teachers so they are forced to use messages? I have experienced teachers trying to contact consultants directly through discovery of email. Any advice would be great.
we are using 2.9.4+ at the moment but will be moving to 3.0.1 in the next month.
