Essential Theme, Custom CSS, Color of breadcrumbs, navigation tabs

We are running Moodle 3.0.2+ (Build: 20160218) and Essential 3.0.1.12 (Build: 2016010217)

Attempting to adjust the colors of the breadcrumbs and the section navigation tabs (currently set to Onetopic) to match a specific Branding color scheme.

We've been using the inspect feature in Chrome to look at the page formatting and we've tweaked the custom CSS and managed to change some colors in the breadcrumbs but not completely,  

We've also managed to change colors in the navigation tabs but now the "currently selected" tab does not display in a different color than the others.

I am attaching a screenshot.

Help please!  I'm not any kind of CSS expert.  Looking for the specific custom CSS that will adjust these colors.
