In most cases, how the sites shortname looks is going to depend on the css of the theme you are using.

If you find out what it is, you can probably override it, by making your change to it and pasting it into the custom css block of your theme, or possibly in the Additional HTML settings.

One other possibility is to figure out the changes you need, put them into a Generico filter, create the filter entry then cut and paste it into the site short name setting. As part of this you would have to make sure the Gnerico filter is set to work for both Content and Headings.
