I need some help and advice
The way my moodle is setup we have categories
Diploma of Business
Advanced Diploma of Business
Within each category have have about 8 to 10 courses
How can I Enrol a user in a category so that, they are enrolled in all courses in that category by default?

I suggest you consider using either Category enrolments or Cohort sync.

The Category Enrolments plugin settings page states:
"Category enrolment plugin is a legacy solution for enrolments at the course category level via role assignments. It is recommended to use cohort synchronisation instead."
Do you know if there are any plans to deprecate and remove the category enrolments option, or will it continue to be supported going forward (and for how long)?
I'm aware of the preference for cohort sync (my preference too) but am currently supporting a large number of historic category enrolments and want to plan if I need to change that going forward.
