Adding students to moodle

Dear users of moodle,

I'd like to know something about moodle and hope you can help me out. We've just made a course on moodle and are willing to invite students to our course (they've not used moodle before). How can we send them an invitation for the course? We couldn't find it.. really sorry.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards, Jasper

It's not really something you can do easily in Moodle. There used to be an optional plugin for this (https://moodle.org/plugins/enrol_invitation) but it is no longer maintained.

You could just create accounts for users and then send them an email. It would be easy enough to do that from (say) a CSV file using Upload_users and the same data for a mail merge.

I would use self-enrollment, and then I would simply email all of the students and give them the course enrollment key.

If all of your students are already enrolled in your Moodle course, moodle has an ability to send a note to all students (go to Participants.)

I use my own videos to help students learn about Moodle.
